WASHINGTON, D.C. (7News) — An early Saturday morning shooting in Northwest Washington, D.C. left a man and woman injured, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
Authorities say both victims arrived at a local hospital around 6:46 a.m., where they were found conscious and breathing, but suffering from gunshot wounds. The extent of their injuries has not been made public, but both individuals were able to communicate with first responders.
Shooting Believed to Have Occurred on T Street NW
While the exact location of the shooting remains under investigation, police believe the incident took place in the 900 block of T Street NW, a residential area not far from the U Street Corridor—a neighborhood known for its nightlife and restaurants.
Residents in the area reported hearing loud noises in the early morning hours, but no emergency calls were made prior to the victims’ arrival at the hospital.
