WASHINGTON (7News) — Juveniles in D.C. could lose their privileges in the city after two violent meetups in Navy Yard in three weeks and 7News learned more curfews for juveniles may be on the way.
Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officials are expected to provide official changes and actions in the coming days. However, after ANC commissioner, Markita Bryant, said she saw a young child in the middle of chaos at 11:30 p.m., Saturday, she said immediate actions need to be taken.
“At this point, someone is going to get severely hurt on both sides,” Smith said. “I would recommend a curfew for Navy Yard. In the hot areas we have identified. That I have identified with the chief and our commander. Number two, I’m recommending we lower the curfew from midnight to at least 9 or 10 o’clock for youth.”…
