Dog rescued from Southeast DC house fire

WASHINGTON — Firefighters rescued a dog while they battled a house fire in Southeast DC on Sunday.

The DC Fire and EMS Department first tweeted about the blaze at 12:49 p.m. ─ which was located in the 1600 block of W Street Southeast.

When firefighters arrived on scene, smoke and flames were showing through a second-floor window. The fire was brought under control, and firefighters rescued a dog that was inside at the time…
