7News tracks down the ‘missing’ $800K at District’s violence prevention agency

WASHINGTON, D.C. (7News) — 7News is tracking down where $800,000 of taxpayer money went at the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (ONSE), the agency responsible for overseeing and issuing contracts for violence prevention work throughout the District.

During a budget hearing for the agency Monday, Ward 1 Councilwoman Brianne Nadeau revealed that she was concerned about giving the agency money due to it losing $800,000 that the agency was given in Fiscal Year 2024.
