DC man arrested soon after U Street shooting, police say

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Police said they arrested a man believed to be responsible for a shooting that happened in the early morning hours Saturday along U Street.

Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) were in the area of 10th and U Streets NW when they heard the sounds of gunshots just after 4:30 a.m.

They found a man who had been shot. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Soon after, MPD arrested 30-year-old Delonte Brown of Northeast D.C. He was found to be in possession of an unregistered gun, police noted…
