WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — There was plenty of pride to be found along 14th Street NW Saturday, as thousands of people turned out for the WorldPride Parade.
“I hope it brings everyone together more. And, you know, I hope the future is brighter for the LGBTQ community,” said Kiki Jomo, of Capitol Hill, who has attended D.C.’s Pride Parade for the last five years.

More people made their way along the parade route than in the past, as the District hosts WorldPride for the first time. Organizers said there are at least 50 more groups taking part in the event, including the host of next year’s World Pride, Amsterdam.
