Son And Father Bitten By Foster Dog In Indian Head, One Flown To Trauma Center

INDIAN HEAD, Md. – A 19-year-old male and his father were both injured Friday afternoon, June 20, 2025, after being bitten by a foster pit bull at a residence on Elder Place in Indian Head.

The teen reportedly suffered a serious bite to the hand “down to the bone” and required immediate medical attention. His father, a firefighter, was also bitten while attempting to intervene.

Charles County emergency dispatchers received the 911 call shortly after 2 p.m. Medics arriving on scene found the dog gated outside and both victims inside the home. Bleeding control instructions were provided by dispatchers before first responders arrived…
