Maryland State Trooper Struck By Tesla While Investigating Crash On Beltway

GREENBELT, Md. — A Maryland State Trooper was struck by a Tesla early Saturday morning while conducting a crash investigation on the Capital Beltway, according to state police.

The incident occurred around 2:44 a.m. on the inner loop of I-495 near Greenbelt Road. The trooper, assigned to the Maryland State Police College Park Barrack, was seated in his marked patrol vehicle with emergency lights activated when the rear of the cruiser was struck by a gray Tesla sedan.

Police say the driver, identified as Teo Kim, 34, of Hanover, Md., was transported to Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center. The trooper was taken to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore and has since been released…
