The Farwest Region of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. secured first place at the National Step Show held during the organization’s 57th National Convention in Washington, DC this past weekend. The event featured step teams from across the country, with the Farwest Region Step Collective delivering a performance that earned top honors from judges and audience members alike.
Stepping has long been a cultural tradition within Delta Sigma Theta, known for its emphasis on discipline, unity, and expression. The Farwest Region’s performance featured a creative theme titled “Delta AI Bots,” which portrayed members as futuristic, AI-powered bots on a mission to energize a Homecoming tailgate. The routine incorporated sharp choreography, stunts, visual effects, and a cultural highlight, the West Coast line dance “You – Lucy Pearl,” choreographed by Shakeema Prescott of the Cerritos Area Alumnae Chapter.
