Search underway in DC for 73-year-old man with Alzheimer’s missing since June, police say

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A search is underway in Washington, D.C. for a 73-year-old man with Alzheimer’s disease who has been missing for nearly a month, police said.

Frankie Jones Sr. was last seen on June 24 in the unit block of Galveston Street, Southwest, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Investigators described him as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with brown eyes and salt-and-pepper colored hair. He was reportedly last seen wearing a light blue shirt, blue jeans and black and white slides.

According to MPD, the person who reported Jones as missing said he has Alzheimer’s, which is a type of dementia that affects memory, thinking and behavior.
