DC police at scene of barricade situation in Northwest

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) were at the scene of a barricade situation that happened on Tuesday afternoon in Northwest D.C.

DC, Maryland officials aim to remove white supremacist’s name from Chevy Chase Circle

Details remain limited, however, DC Police Traffic said just after 2 p.m., the investigation led to the following road closures:

  • Northbound 3rd Street Tunnel from I-695/South Capitol Street
  • Northbound I-395 at the 3rd Street Tunnel ramp
  • New York Avenue from New Jersey Avenue to 5th Street NW
  • 4th Street from Massachusetts Avenue to M Street NW

MPD’s negotiators were on the scene to try and resolve the incident. Residents were asked to avoid the 400 block of New York Avenue NW.
