Driver unharmed as car catches fire in Northeast DC

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Firefighters worked to extinguish a fire in Northeast D.C. overnight after a car went up in flames.

In a post on the X platform shortly before 1 a.m. on July 26, the DC Fire and EMS Department said a car had caught fire in the 1300 block of Kenilworth Ave.

Images posted by the fire department show the front end of the car entirely scorched, including the engine and the front seats.

The driver, who was not hurt, exited the car before firefighters arrived, officials noted.
