Facebook Marketplace Sale Ends in Attempted Carjacking With Three Arrests Made

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has shared that three men have been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted carjacking that took place during an online sale arranged through Facebook Marketplace.

Per MCPD: “On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, a Gaithersburg resident arranged to meet a buyer interested in purchasing a BMW that had been listed for sale online. The meeting was scheduled to take place at the seller’s home. During the meeting, the suspects, 18-year-old Julian Chase Rose of Beltsville and 19-year-old Prince Chukang of Silver Spring, displayed a handgun and demanded the keys to the BMW. The victim dropped the keys and ran.

A third suspect, 20-year-old Kendric Rock of Silver Spring, had arrived with the others in a 2019 Infiniti Q50, which was later determined to have been reported stolen on Tuesday, July 1. All three got away in the Infiniti. At approximately 8:01 p.m., officers from multiple district stations responded and assisted in the apprehension of the suspects.
