CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. (DC News Now) — With so much growth in the D.C. metro area, some suburban residents are pushing out to West Virginia, which is a commuting distance to the Nation’s Capital.

The eastern panhandle of West Virginia has become a bedroom community to Washington, D.C., with a 40% increase in population over the past two decades, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. It has led to a dramatic increase in housing, construction and employment.
