The Metropolitan Police Department has taken a step forward in solving a recent bank heist on Georgia Avenue, culminating in the arrest of one individual with another still at large. Bobby Ransome, 46, from Northwest, DC, has been charged in connection with Thursday’s unarmed robbery at the Truist Bank. The announcement came after intensive police efforts to track down those responsible for the mid-afternoon crime spree.

At around 2:55 p.m., they made their way into the bank, located at 6400 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest, where one handed over a note that coerced a bank teller into surrendering a significant amount of cash. Proving that muscle isn’t always necessary for malice, the suspects fled the scene without the use of a weapon. Following the initial investigation, Ransome was located and apprehended, however, his accomplice remains at liberty.
A surveillance photo of the second suspect caught in the act has been disseminated to the public.
