(WBFF) — Family, friends, and fellow skateboarders gathered at a local skatepark to remember 13-year-old Mason Kearns, who tragically lost his life last Thursday after being swept into a storm drain during flash flooding.
“As y’all see, you’re at a skatepark. Skateparks were his sanctuary,” Mason’s aunt Allison said, reflecting on Mason’s love for skateboarding.
Mason’s grandmother, Bonnie, shared her grief and the unexpected burden of planning a funeral. “Parents are lucky, they get to save for a wedding or college. But nobody saves for a funeral. I mean nobody does that,” she said…
