WASHINGTON (7News) — Planned construction on the Greenline of the Metro closed two stops on Saturday and will close the same stops next weekend, officials said.
The construction is part of phase two of the Summer 2025 Major Construction project. Congress Heights and Southern Avenue will close Saturday and Sunday and on Aug. 16 and Aug. 17, according to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA).
Other greenline stops are closed between Aug. 2 and Aug. 31, including Branch Ave, Suitland, and Nayor Road stations. Free shuttle services will be offered to replace the closed stops, said Metro officials…
