WASHINGTON (7News) — A Washington man will spend nearly six years behind bars for unlawfully possessing a stolen handgun while on supervision for a previous assault conviction, according to U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.
Lamaas Lowery-Bey, 28, was sentenced in U.S. District Court on Tuesday to 70 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, after pleading guilty April 18 to unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Prosecutors said the case stemmed from a Sept. 2023 incident in which officers saw Lowery-Bey pulling a black semi-automatic pistol from his pants in the 1900 block of 18th Street, Southeast. The gun appeared to have an extended magazine…
