Former cashier Stephon Martin, 25, of Washington D.C., has been convicted in connection with a violent armed robbery against his former employer. A jury found Martin guilty of robbery while armed, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault with significant bodily injury while armed, and felony destruction of property, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Prosecutors said Martin was laid off from a tobacco store on October 18, 2024. On April 15, he attacked the store owner, assaulted him, and stole money from his pocket.
