Retired FBI agent warns of misleading crime stats in DC as numbers continue to climb

WASHINGTON (TNND) — Washington insider and long-time D.C. resident Armstrong Williams described the crime in the area as “pure thuggery” as some leaders in D.C. try to downplay the violence.

While D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser made claimed that crime has gone done from its peak in 2023, statistics show it’s still way higher than the national average.

In 2024, the district had the highest homicide rate in the country per capita. It was nearly six times higher than New York City, as well as higher than Atlanta and Chicago…
