WMATA reveals new winning 8000-series Metro train car designs

WASHINGTON (7News) — After getting more than 20,000 votes from riders throughout the Washington D.C. area, Metro has revealed the winning exterior design for its new 8000-series rail fleet on Tuesday.

In early August, commuters were invited to vote on three possible designs, with the winning look chosen based on the most votes received. Metro said the process was part of its effort to engage riders in shaping the next generation of rail service.
