DC Mayor celebrates multi-million-dollar modernization project at Ward 4 school

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser cut the ribbon Thursday on a multi-million-dollar modernization project of an elementary school in Ward 4, while also celebrating the first day of Pre-K District-wide.

The $82.9 million modernization of Truesdell Elementary School features new classrooms, a turf field, indoor-outdoor learning spaces and a multipurpose timber field house, the Mayor’s Office said.

In addition to several early childhood clasrooms offering free, full-day Pre-K3 and Pre-K4, Truesdell now has a child developmet center for infants and toddlers, supporting the transition to Pre-K for the city’s youngest learners.
