Water crews seal water main that leaked 6,200 gallons of sewage onto DC streets

WASHINGTON (WJLA) — D.C. Water crews made progress repairing a massive sewer line that collapsed and spilled thousands of gallons of sewage.

The incident resulted in a large sinkhole and required extensive cleanup efforts.

The situation worsened about two weeks ago when a torrential downpour caused approximately 6,200 gallons of wastewater to overflow into the Northeast neighborhood, nearly setting crews back to the beginning of their repair efforts…
