Special police officer assaulted in DC; search for suspect ongoing

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. police are searching for a man after a special police officer was assaulted in Northwest, D.C.

On Saturday, Aug. 30, around 2 p.m., while on routine patrol in the Unit block of Banner Lane, Northwest, the officer was physically assaulted by a man, who then fled the scene on foot.
