WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A fire that broke out in the early morning hours of Saturday displaced two people living in Southwest D.C., fire officials said.
In a social media post made just after 1:15 a.m., DC Fire and EMS said crews were responding to a working fire in the unit block of Chesapeake Street SW. There, a fire was in the basement of a two-story apartment.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m., DCFD said the fire had been knocked down and crews were checking for extension.
