Suspect sought in Northwest DC robbery, assault

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is in search of a suspect and a person of interest in connection with a Northwest D.C. armed robbery and stabbing.

Police say on Aug. 15, at 2:20 a.m., the victim reported being approached by someone who asked them to buy him a beer in the 1700 block of Columbia Road. The victim claimed the person snatched the cash from their wallet as they were pulling out their money before running away.

According to police, the victim chased the suspect, who then pulled out two knives and threatened to kill the victim before taking their phone.
