DC police: Man arrested, accused of possible hate-crime during assault

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. police arrested a suspect in an assault case that involved hate or bias, officials said.

On Monday, around 10:30 a.m., the suspect approached the victim at 14th St. and R Street, Northwest. The suspect reportedly jumped in front of the victim, aggressively swinging his fists and nearly hitting the victim while using a slur against the LGBTQ+ community.

The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.

39-year-old Marshall Baxter, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with simple assault (hate/bias)…
