Man accused of firing gun during argument in Southeast DC charged with assault

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Officers took a man into custody over the weekend after he allegedly fired a gun at someone during an argument in Southeast, D.C.

Just before 11 p.m. on Sept. 20, 39-year-old Alonzo Hinton was reportedly in a dispute with someone in the back of the 100 block of Atlantic Street when he pulled out a gun, firing one shot in the victim’s direction, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Investigators noted that the two were arguing about money when Hinton allegedly fired the gun. The victim was not struck.

Officers found Hinton a short time later and arrested him, charging him with assault with a dangerous weapon…
