WASHINGTON, D.C. (FOX Carolina) — The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced that paper tax refund checks for individual taxpayers will be phased out beginning on Sept. 30, 2025.
The change is a result of Executive Order 14247, which mandates the transition to electronic payments for all federal disbursements and receipts.
