WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A Maryland woman was taken into custody Tuesday after she allegedly tried to stab a D.C. police officer during a traffic stop earlier this month, officials said.
Officers arrested Melodie Brevard, 40, of Hillcrest Heights, Md., on Tuesday in connection with the incident, which took place on the morning of Sept. 7.
According to a police report obtained by DC News Now, it all started at around 7:20 a.m. that day when a Seventh District officer stopped Brevard’s vehicle after noticing it did not have plates. However, Brevard reportedly refused to exit of the vehicle.
