On September 24, at approximately 7:09 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue (Aldi) for a report of a 1st degree assault and theft.
According to police, “Two Hispanic male suspects had stolen multiple packs of meat and paper towels before fleeing on foot toward the 1300 block of University Blvd. One suspect was described as wearing all black and carrying a black grocery bag; the second was wearing a gray hoodie and a gray backpack.
Before leaving the store, the suspects were confronted by the on-duty security guard. During the confrontation, the suspects brandished a cutting instrument toward the guard before escaping. The suspects’ descriptions were immediately broadcast to surrounding law enforcement agencies. Officers canvassed the area, but the suspects were not located.”…
