Career fairs, take-home cars, pay raises… MPD pushes for officer recruitment

WASHINGTON (7News) — 7News looked into how the city plans to get more officers added to the force and how it’s maintaining its balance between community relationships and federal authorities.

On Saturday, the city held a law enforcement career fair promoting its various incentives. The D.C. council approved a 13 percent pay raise for officers. These are attempts and initiatives to get more officers in D.C., a desperate need echoed by the council, police chief, and mayor.
