WASHINGTON (7News) — Starting Oct. 1, 2025, families in Washington, D.C., receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) will see an increase in child support passthrough payments from $150 to $200 per month.
This change, part of the Child Support Reform Amendment Act of 2025, was announced by Attorney General Brian L. Schwalb and Councilmembers Matt Frumin and Brooke Pinto on Tuesday.
The reform ensures that more money collected from noncustodial parents goes directly to families, without reducing TANF benefits.
