Man shot in Navy Yard, investigation underway

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating after a man was shot in Navy Yard Thursday evening.

According to police, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 1100 block of South Capitol Street SE, where a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was transported to the hospital, conscious and breathing, police added.

At least six police cruisers have responded to the scene of the shooting.
