National Zoo, Smithsonian museums to stay open for at least another week

WASHINGTON, D.C. (7News) — As the government shutdown drags on, the National Zoo and the Smithsonian museums will be able to remain open for at least another week.

The attractions posted on X Friday, saying that there was enough funding to keep them open through at least Oct. 11.

Initially, the Smithsonian said it could only stay open until Monday, Oct. 6…
