Two-vehicle crash in Northwest DC leaves several hospitalized

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Several people were left seriously injured after two cars collided in Washington, D.C. overnight, with both vehicles catching fire.

In a post on the X platform shortly before 4:30 a.m., the DC Fire and EMS Department said the crash happened at Rhode Island Avenue and Florida Avenue in Northwest. Two cars had collided at the intersection, with one vehicle rolling over on its side.

Images shared by the fire department show both vehicles completely scorched by flames in the front, with smoke billowing from the front end of one of the cars.

Officials said medics took one man to the hospital with “critical injuries,” while four other people, one woman and three men, were transported with “serious injuries.”
