The Metropolitan Police Department has arrested 28-year-old Rahsaan Smith. The arrest is related to a triple homicide that occurred in Southeast Washington, DC, in August 2023. The incident happened on the 1600 block of Good Hope Road. Officers found five people with gunshot wounds at the scene. Three victims, Tymea Cook, Bernard Hodges, and Reginald Gilbert, were pronounced dead at the location.
Smith, who lives in Southeast DC, was taken into custody on October 22, 2025. The arrest was made by the Violent Crime Suppression Division’s Robbery Suppression Unit.
