WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — As the government shutdown continues, thousands of federal workers across the D.C. region are not getting a paycheck despite it being their payday. Amid the uncertainty, one local content creator is stepping up to help ease the burden.
Lola Ajayi, known online as “Life With LeauxLa” is using her platform to share a comprehensive list of free resources available to federal workers and others affected by the shutdown.
“I think that every day that it goes on, more and more people get into a bigger hole,” Ajayi said. “My heart just really goes out to everyone who’s been affected by this because it’s so many people in the DMV area. It’s a lot of people going through a tough time right now.”
