DC residents, leaders to discuss expanded juvenile curfew

WASHINGTON (7News) — After the clock struck midnight on the temporary emergency bill allowing for an expanded juvenile curfew earlier in the month, D.C. leaders will hear public feedback on the measure’s effectiveness this week before possibly considering resurrecting the legislation.

The public meeting will take place on Thursday, October 30.

Over the summer and early fall, MPD Chief Pamela Smith had the authority to declare certain parts of the city expanded juvenile curfew zones, which banned anyone younger than 18-years-old from gathering in groups of nine or more from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m…
