6-year-old injured in Southeast DC shooting, police say

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — An investigation is underway in the District after a 6-year-old boy was injured in a shooting Friday night, D.C. police said.

According to a police report obtained by DC News Now, officers found the injured child after responding to sounds of gunshots in the 1900 block of Savannah Terrace at around 8:15 p.m. on Oct. 24.

Medics took the boy, who had a single gunshot wound, to the hospital for treatment.
