Suspect in Two DC Homicides Arrested in Germantown Following Regional Manhunt

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced the arrest of 18-year-old Naqwan Antonio Lucas. Lucas was wanted in connection with two homicide investigations in Washington, DC. He was arrested on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in Germantown, Maryland. The arrest was made by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF).

The first incident occurred on June 30, 2025. Third District officers responded to gunshots in the 1200 block of 7th Street, Northwest. They found three victims: an unconscious adult male, an adult female, and a 16-year-old male. All had gunshot wounds. Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, 21, of Granby, Massachusetts, died from his injuries on July 1, 2025.

On September 5, 2025, police arrested two other suspects, Kelvin Thomas and Jailen Lucas, both 17. They were charged as adults with First Degree Murder While Armed in connection with the June 30 homicide. Naqwan Antonio Lucas was identified as the third suspect.
