The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s help in tracking down a suspect involved in a violent assault that took place over the Halloween weekend. The incident occurred last Saturday around 12:25 a.m., when a victim and their friends, who had been celebrating in costumes, exited the train at the Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter Station and were subsequently mocked by a group, as reported by the MPD.
What first appeared to be harmless Halloween fun quickly turned violent when a member of the group suddenly approached the victim from behind and struck them repeatedly in the head. The unprovoked attack left the victim unconscious. The suspect fled immediately after the incident. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect’s image has been captured by surveillance cameras, and authorities are seeking assistance in identifying the assailant; the photo provided by MPD can be viewed on their official website. Concerned individuals or witnesses with information related to the crime are urged not to approach the suspect but to contact the MPD directly by calling (202) 727-9099 or by sending a text message to their TEXT TIP LINE at 50411…
