Woman dies after crash in DC, police investigating

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — An 86-year-old woman died almost two weeks after a crash in D.C., police said Monday.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that on Oct. 28, just before 4:15 p.m., a pick-up truck was south in the 3000 block of North Capitol St. NW. The driver turned left onto the unit block of Girard Street, where they hit another car, drifted and hit a tree.

D.C. Fire and EMS treated the driver of the pick-up truck at the scene. The pick-up truck’s passenger was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. MPD said that the driver of the other car was not injured.
