WASHINGTON (7News) — D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser recently announced $9.2 million in funding for the Safe Passage program, which supports students as they go to and from school.
The program assigns 129 ambassadors to predetermined routes to provide consistent support. You’ll find these workers wearing their green vests outside schools, along certain routes, and at Metro stops.
The priority areas are these 12 stations: Anacostia, Brookland, Columbia Heights, Congress Heights, Eastern/Stadium Armory, Fort Totten, L’Enfant Plaza, Minnesota Avenue, NoMa, Petworth/Brightwood, Potomac Avenue, and Tenleytown…
