DC issues cold alert ahead of freezing weather

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — As the cold weather only increases in severity as the year heads into December, D.C. has issued a cold alert for Thursday night.

From 8 p.m. Thursday until 9 a.m. on Friday, temperatures are expected to reach below freezing.

The District is advising people to take shelter. Those experiencing homelessness can get additional assistance from shelters.
