WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The man, who stabbed a Metro Transit Police sergeant in the face after he was caught jumping over the gates back in April, has been sentenced.

Around 2:30 p.m., on April 15, Erik Schleehauf, 43, was seen by MTPD sergeant jumping over the glass gates to avoid paying while heading out of the Navy-Yard-Ballpark Metro Station.
The sergeant followed him as he tried to leave on the escalator. Schleehauf refused to give any identification or stop, and the sergeant then pepper-sprayed him.
