Man sentenced for threatening family with gun on Metro bus in DC

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A man, who was also a previously convicted felon, was sentenced for threatening a family on a bus in D.C.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for D.C. said 29-year-old Ricardo Rush was sentenced to 60 months in prison on Oct. 23 and three years of supervised release. He had pulled a gun out on a crowded Metro bus and threatened to kill two parents and their young kids earlier this year.

He pleaded guilty to the incident on June 17 for unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon, to assault with a dangerous weapon, and to possession of a firearm during a crime of violence or dangerous offense.
