MPD identifies man shot, killed near Oxon Run Park; offers $25k reward for info

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has released the name of the man who was killed in a shooting near Oxon Run Park in Southeast D.C. Now, detectives are asking for the community’s help in the case.

In an update on Friday, police identified the victim as 31-year-old Tyrone Kearney, of Southeast, DC.

Just minutes after 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 19, officers were called to the 1200 block of Valley Avenue after gunshots were heard in the area. Once on the scene, police found Kearney, who had been shot, unresponsive.
