‘City knew this was going to go poorly’: DC leaders respond to ERAP housing chaos

WASHINGTON (7News) — More than 1,000 people were left out in the cold for hours during the district’s sign-up day for appointments with the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP).

Babies and those with physical challenges were stuck outside, and 7News spotted two seniors who fell.

Multiple D.C. Council members were disturbed by what they saw and said the city knew this would go badly, as the district had set people up by having them wait outside, knowing they wouldn’t be able to help most of them…
