Maryland person dies in early morning head-on crash in DC

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. police are investigating a deadly crash that happened early Tuesday morning.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said a two-vehicle crash happened around 3:15 a.m. on DC-295, north of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast exit.

Preliminarily, MPD believes that a Mercedes E350 was driving at high speeds, heading southbound in the northbound lanes, when it hit an Audi Q7 that was headed northbound.

The Mercedes driver died at the scene, and the Audi driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition…
